France Announce World Cup Squad

The French team has announced their final revision to the 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup… and we have to say, that there were a few surprises.

Failing to make the team were Martial, Benzema and Rabiot.

What we can understand is that the French coach, Didier Deschamps opted to go with players who are in their top form for the games in Russia.

The French have one intent: Attacking.

We can see this is evident from their team choice and how the coach is building this team in the run-up to the World Cup 2018.

National team Coach Deschamps has brought a uniquely talented pool of talent since taking over the team back in 2012.

At this World Cup, the French team will be hungry for a win after losing in the final of Euro 2016 against Portugal.

Didier Deschamps is an attacking minded coach and although the team is full of players reaching their peak, they still do not control the game the likes of Germany and Brazil do but France are deadly on the counter and that how they are likely to lineup with pacy wingers in a 4-3-3 formation.

France World Cup 2018 Lineup

Keeping in mind that Antoine Griezmann is the star striker who also finished as the top goal scorer in Euro 2018.

Griezmann will also be supported by Kylian Mbappé and Lacazatte/Thomas Lemar in the three-man attack.

Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante are set to start in midfield roles.

As far as defence is concerned, Laurent Koscielny is likely to start alongside Rafael Verane in central defence.

Benjamin Mendy would have been the first choice but considering he has been out for long due to injury we can expect Florian Thauvin or even Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti with Sidibe to start at right back.

Hugo Lloris to captain France in the World cup 2018.
