What Are The NFL Playoffs?

The National Football League Playoffs is a single elimination tournament that takes place every year after the regular NFL season to the determine the final NFL Champion.

How it works is that; 6 teams from each of the league’s two conferences qualify for the playoffs.

The tournament will then end with the grand Super Bowl which will see the two conference champions head to head.

NFL Playoff Standings 2018

These are the Post Wild Card Rankings:

1. New England Patriots (13-3)

2. Philadelphia Eagles (13-3)

3. Pittsburgh Steelers (13-3)

4. Minnesota Vikings (13-3)

5. New Orleans Saints (12-5)

6. Jacksonville Jaguars (11-6)

7. Atlanta Falcons (11-6,)

8. Tennessee Titans (10-7)

So here is what went down:

The Atlanta Falcons beat the Los Angeles Rams which advanced them to the NFC Divisional Round.

They are currently - 3 points spread over the Philadelphia Eagles at Bovada>>

Whilst the Tennessee Titans have quite a few fans in the belief that they will make it all the way and win the title.

This is certainly a possibility and even more so after a remarkable win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday 6th January.

The Titans can thank players like Mariota who really made the game their own in this NFL playoff season.

At halftime, the Titans were down 18 points but went on to win the game 22-21 with thanks to Mariota’s willpower and arm.

Watching him save the game as he caught a touchdown pass and scored a threw with only 6:06 left in the game.

The Falcons also eliminated the top- scorers for the NFL this season the Rams in the NFL playoff wild-card round.

For the 2018 postseason, the defence will make the team a serious contender for this team to reach the Super Bowl finals.

Whilst Atlanta will be on the road to play the Philadelphia Eagles who are struggling to keep up with their usual play without Carson Wentz as the quarterback.

As for the Falcons, should they keep Nick Foles front and centre they will move on to the second consecutive NFC Championship game.

Last but not least the New Orleans Saints went on to win against Carolina Panthers on Sunday 7th January.

Although we must admit that this was a close win for the Saints as Brees racked up 376 passing yards and two touchdown passes.

The New Orlean Saints will once again face another challenge against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday 13th January 2018.
