Hey #AlphaBettor, welcome to our BetClic review.
BetClic is a private company that offers an online sportsbook. The company was founded by a fresh man named Nicolas Beraud, who created the company in London with one employee and investment of 3 million euros.
In 2008, Mangas Gaming bought majority stake (75%) of the company for 50 million euros, as part of many Mangas Gaming acquisitions.
BetClic has a significant market share in france due it is strong french connection, with over 35% market share of the country.
The online sports bookmaker is currently based in Malta, to take advantage of the favourable tax laws the Maltese Islands have to offer. The company has 500 employees currently working for the entity worldwide.
BetClic Review: An Overview
- Name: BetClic
- Website: en.betclic.com
- Bonus: 100% refund on first bet
- Minimum Deposit: 0.10c
- Rating: 2/5
The reason BetClic is so dominant in the french betting market is due to the fact the holdings company it belongs to, Everest Group, is based in France.
Everest Group is a holdings company that owns stakes in multiple sport bookmakers, forming their own betting companies empire. The other bookmakers that Everest Group are shareholders in are Bet-At-Home bookmaker and Expekt.
According to the directors of Betclic, they currently are active in over 100 countries worldwide which has resulted in over 12 million customers actively using their website.
The website is currently available in 13 languages including languages such as Hungarian, Romanian and Finnish.
A marketing stunt that BetClic had used with was very successful and played a vital role in BetClic’s growth is using Thomas Berthold as a brand ambassador.
BetClic’s Betting Markets
BetClic offers a good range of betting markets to bet on, competing with the medium sized bookmakers but falling behind the major bookmakers in the industry.
The sports that BetClic currently offer American Football, Athletics, Aussie Rules, Baseball, Baseball, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Futsal, Futsal, Golf, Handball, Horse Racing, Ice Hockey, Martial Arts, Motor Racing, Rugby, Snooker, Soccer, Tennis, Volleyball and Winter Sports.
BetClic have an in-depth choice of obscure leagues in football, such as the lower leagues in the Iceland.
BetClic’s Customer Service
BetClic’s customer support leaves a lot to be desired, with not only limited communication channels but lack of availability. As a punter myself, the lack of availability would be of a huge irritance as misunderstood betting terms is a common occurrence
The online sports bookmaker currently only offers a live chat which is available from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and if you wish to contact them beyond these hours, you will have to send an email and await their response.
BetClic also offer an extensive FAQs to handle your queries without contacting their staff.
It is always disappointing to see such a lack of investment in customer service when it is such a paramount sector in today’s betting industry.
The BetClic Mobile App & Website
For both of their platforms, BetClic receive criticism on the lack of clarity their website and mobile app. After using both of these platforms, I can see why users feel overwhelmed by these platforms.
The amount of promotional banners that are shown make the overall appearance very crowded and messy for users to navigate.
The amount of menus is also very unnecessary which all need to be closed manually. Therefore, initially you must scroll all the way down to get rid of menus you have been supplied with which you did not ask for.
BetClic’s Withdrawal/Payment Processes
A nice touch of BetClic is that there is no transactional costs on any process, which I never understand why bookmakers do not make this a necessity.
Deposit Methods: Mastercard, Visa, Skrill, Neteller, Giropay and paysafecard
Withdrawal Methods: Mastercard, Visa, Skrill, Neteller, Giropay and paysafecard
The minimum deposit is €0.10 which is a nice touch as it gives customers complete freedom with their deposits.
BetClic’s In-Play Betting
This online bookmaker’s in-play product is very limited and does not offer all the markets that they would in pre-match markets.
Since starting their in-play betting markets, they have not expanded much on the amount of markets that they offer.
BetClic also offer live streaming, which always compliments in-play betting very well as it offers an one-stop shop to customers.
Although the live streaming is very limited, it still offers great value to users.
BetClic’s Sign-Up Bonus
The current sign-up is that customers will receive 100% refund on their first bet if you lose it.
You must use the promo code MAXCLIC to qualify for this sign-up bonus and this offer is offered solely on mobile.
BetClic offer promotions throughout the season, beyond their sign-up bonus. To keep updated with these offers and click Betclic Bonus.
Who Is BetClic Good For?
Unfortunately, BetClic does not offer enough for punters to choose their service above the major bookmakers in the industry.
They lack in major areas such as customer service, value in odds, in-depth live betting markets and platforms which lack user-friendliness.
They offer some good features such as live streaming and wide range of football markets, but these are all matched and even bettered by most bookmakers.
Alpha Sports Betting & Comments
With everything considered, #teamalpha have decided to rate BetClic 2.0/5. We do not recommend using this bookmaker for the reasons explain before.
Although BetClic might appeal to some for its offers in less popular betting markets, the overall value it offers to punter is very lacking.
