So today we are going to present you the British Horse racing calendar 2018 major races.
Also elaborate a bit more on some of them and provide you with some betting tips along the way (in case you want to make some money out of them, too).
British Horse Racing Calendar 2018
If we told you that there will be more than 1,500 horse races in the UK in 2018 alone you would probably not believe us.
Nobody would in fact unless you are a fan of Horse racing. The United Kingdom is one of the most esteemed nations on the planet when it comes to sports like this.
Instead of providing a list of all those events we are just going to list the major ones and elaborate on a few of them by providing some useful statistics and betting tips when possible.

These are the major ones. We will now proceed to take a look at the most popular events out of all those.
1. Cheltenham Festival
Taking place at the Cheltenham Racecourse starting on Tuesday 13 and ending on Friday 16 of March, four different events are going to be held.
First is the Champion Day, second is the Ladies Day, third is St Patricks Thursday, and fourth is the Cheltenham Gold Cup Day.
The latter one is also the most popular of all four as the majority of viewers of the whole event buy the most tickets for that particular race.
First on the odds comes Thistlecrack with 6.00, second is Sizing John with a 7.00 odd, and third is Might Bite with an 8.00.
All three odds are offered from Betfair.
Last year’s Gold Cup winner was Sizing john.Sign Up With Betfair Here
2. Randox Health Grand National Festival
Starting on April 12 and ending on April 14 with the Grand National Day race, this festival is one of the most awaited horse racing events to take place in 2018.
On April 12 the Grand National Thursday and on April 13 the Ladies Day.
One for Arthur was the name of the horse that won the main race.
William Hill is one of the few online bookmakers that have already started offering odds for the event.
In the first place, there is Blaklion with an odd of 21.00 followed by Cause of Causes and Native River both with a 26.00 odd.
Next up are Go Conquer, Minella Rocco, Vicente, and Vieux Lion Rouge all with the exact same 34.00 odd.Sign Up With William Hill Here
3. All-Weather Championships Final Day
Bound to happen on the Good Friday of 2018 (March 30th) this is going to be the all-weather race day with the highest prize pool to ever take place in Europe.
Across the six races to happen that day a total prize pool of 1£ million will be up for the taking.
Of the 6 races to take place that day these are the best bets for each.
On the Marathon Championship, the horse Natural Scenery has a 5.00 odd, on the Fillies & Mares’ Championship the horse Realtra comes first with a 7.00 odd.
The horse Mythmaker has an odd of 11.00 to win the Sprint Championship, Ennaadd has a 2.63 odd to win the Mile Championship, Second Thought comes with a 2.38 odd to win the 3-Year-Old Championship, and last the horse named Elbereth has a 12.00 odd to win Easter Classic Middle Distance Championship.
4. Coral Scottish Grand National
The British Horseracing calendar 2018 is going to be filled with interesting events and this is for sure one of them.
This race will take place on Saturday 21 of April and the prize pool is going to be about 215,000£ alongside another smaller event’s 105,000£ one.
The horse named Vicente has managed to win the last two times in 2016 and 2017 the latter one with odds of 10.00 in his favour.
Odds on him are currently 33.00 as he falls behind Blaklion’s 20.00, Native River’s 25.00, and Cause of Causes 25.00 odd.
These odds are the best you can currently find and are all offered by the British bookmaker William Hill.Sign Up With William Hill Here
5. QIPCO 2000 Guineas Festival
There is the QIPCO 1000 event as well but the 2000 one is what most people are waiting to see.
As for the odds, William Hill provides the best one you can find on one of the favourites, Saxon Warrior, an 8.00 odd to be exact.
Gustav Klimt is offered a 6.00, US Navy Flag a 7.00, and Expert Eye an 8.00.
The latter one is offered a record high 10.00 odd if you go with Bet365 instead of William Hill.
6. Royal Ascot
Want six races each with a prize pool of over 1£ million? Then the Royal Ascot is the event for you.
Starting on Tuesday 19 and ending on Saturday 23 June the event is believed to have sold all its tickets already.
The venue which King George the third used to constantly visit and have reserved for him and his family alone is now a home for one of the most elegant horse racing events in the United Kingdom.
On the 21st the Ascot Gold Cup is going to take place and the odds have already started catching fire.
First comes Order of St George with an odd of 3.00, second is Capri with a 5.00 followed by Big Orange (2017’s winner) with 7.00 on the third and in the fourth place you will find Stradivarius with an 8.00 odd.
Those are all offered by William Hill.
7. King George Weekend
Taking place a bit more than a month later than the Royal Ascot, in the same venue, the King George Weekend is another esteemed event.
It will take place on Saturday 28th of July and not many odds are available from that early.
The only ones that are indeed available are those of Betfair on Enable with a 2.00 odd and the Cracksman with a 4.00 odd.Sign Up With Betfair Here
8. Qatar Goodwood Festival
Bound to take place in summer starting on July 31st and ending on the 4th of August, the Qatar Goodwood festival is another jewel in the British Horseracing calendar 2018 when it comes to the major races.
On the 1st of August, the Qatar Sussex Stakes race will take place handing out a prize pool of 1£ million.
This is followed by the final event on the 4th of the month, the Qatar Stewards Cup, the winner of which will get the sweet prize of 250,000£.
It is still too early so odds haven’t started to appear yet.
On top of those two events, there will also be a Ladies’ Day among two other horse races.
9. William Hill St Leger Festival
One of the original horse races couldn’t be missing from the British horse racing calendar 2018.
Organized in Doncaster and sponsored by one of the best, if not the absolute best, British bookmakers, William Hill, the St Leger Festival will take place from September 10-13.
The oldest of Britain’s five classic races as it started back in 1776 and it completes the “Triple Crown” as it follows the 2000 Guineas and the Derby.
As it would be only logical the stakes offered in this event are always amazing.
However, it is still very early, more than 10 months prior to the event in fact, in order for odds to even start appearing.
Each day of the festival 7 races take place and people go crazy over betting on them all.
There is also a charity race which always happens on the first day and another event dedicated to women, the Ladies’ Day.Sign Up To William Hill
Even though these are the top 9 events on the British horse racing calendar 2018 there are other that we have to mention like the Yorkshire Ebor Festival, the Cambridgeshire Meeting, the Open, the 32Red Sprint Cup Festival, and many others.
All of them are amazing and totally worth visiting.
Just remember to purchase a ticket before all of them get sold and be sure to place some bets as well.
