Arsenal Vs Chelsea: FA Cup Preview & Betting Odds

Hey there Alpha-Bettor! Welcome to our Arsenal Vs Chelsea: FA Cup Final preview.

The FA cup, which is often claimed to be the oldest competition, is a favourite competition for many sports fanatics across the United Kingdom and even globally.

Some individuals argue that the FA Cup has lost the value it had amongst the football community thus resulting in football clubs taking the competition less seriously than previous years.

I personally disagree with the above statement. Although certain clubs may not play their strongest teams in early rounds of the competition, from the last 16 onwards, the FA Cup is as competitive as ever.

In recent years the FA Cup has produced magical moments too, and this year we are being given a dream match-up in the final on 27th May.

This year final is Arsenal Vs Chelsea, and this is the Alpha Sports Betting FA Cup preview.

The season has been very different for these two teams, the common ground for both of them being that there was a twist to both of their seasons. The difference is that the twist was positive for Chelsea, and a negative one for Arsenal.

At the beginning of the season, Arsenal looked like they could finally go all the way for the league title while Chelsea were struggling to find their feet with Conte’s new system.

This expectation reached its peak when Arsenal hammered Chelsea 3-0 in one of the early games of this season, raising questions whether Conte can adapt to the Premier League while Wenger finally looked like he was going to silence his critics and sustain a title tilt.

If I had to tell myself how the premier league season would pan out back in October, I wouldn’t have believed myself.

Chelsea’s abysmal performance ended up being the catalyst to them becoming champions. Conte switched to his tried and tested 3-4-3 formation, and in the weeks that followed, we saw a completely different Chelsea team.

Over the remaining games, Chelsea ran out as deserved winners with performing dominating performances one after the other. Now, they have an FA cup to potentially complete the double.

With regards to Arsenal, there was a disappointingly usual feel to how their season ended up going.

They ended up fading in form and dropping out of the title race by February, and currently look like they will miss out on the top 4 bar a miracle from Middlesbrough or Watford.

In February alone, they had lost to Chelsea, Liverpool, Watford and West Bromwich Albion. This not only killed any hope of finishing the campaign as champions but put them off track for a top 4 finish.

Arsenal have never failed to finish outside the top four under Arsene Wenger, qualifying for the champions league for consecutive 20 years.

Besides their disappointing league campaign, Arsenal had a usual exit to their champions league campaign. They were hammered 10-2 on aggregate against Bayern Munich, losing 5-1 in both home and away legs.

This cup is a chance for slight redemption for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger for what has been a disappointing season for their fans. At the moment, losing this final looks inconceivable as there will be surely no turning back for Arsene Wenger with the fans after another trophyless season.

Conte goes into this match in a completely opposite environment to his counterpart, with virtually no pressure on his shoulders. Conte has the chance to crown his first ever season in the Premier League with a historic double, and there does not seem like there is not much stopping him from achieving this.

Paul Merson, Ex-Arsenal midfielder, recently claimed that even if Arsenal play their best football on the day, they will still not be able to compete with Chelsea.

Arsene Wenger is the most successful manager in the history of the competition, winning it six times. A statistic that will ease the discomfort that the Arsenal fans are currently experiencing.

Recently, Arsenal have changed to a 3-4-3 formation for the first time in Arsene Wenger’s reign. The Arsenal manager stated that it is the formation best equipped to maximise the potential of his players.

Since this changed, Arsenal have won seven matches out of the eight played so far. This gives the fans hope going into their last hope for a trophy for the 2016/2017 season.

Arsenal Vs Chelsea – Team News

In Arsenal vs. Southampton, Arsenal star Alex Oxlade Chamberlain pulled his hamstring which looked to be a massive blow to their FA Cup chances.

Positive news has been released from the Arsenal camp that Chamberlain has a realistic chance of being match fit for the game of the season.

The rest of the Arsenal squad is fully fit and ready to battle for the FA Cup for a record 13th time.

Chelsea have a fully fit squad ahead of the fight for a historic double.

Arsenal Vs Chelsea – Prediction

#teamAlpha have predicted that this game will finish 2-1 for Chelsea, with Arsenal giving their all but ultimately will falling short to Chelsea’s superior quality.

Chelsea have dominated the Premier league this season in a commanding fashion, including smashing Arsenal 3-1 at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal have a poor record against Chelsea and we simply do not see this changing in the final.
